A hedge outside St Paul’s School in Lonsdale Road caught light on Sunday evening.
The brigade arrived shortly before 10pm and the fire was out just over 30 minutes later.
There are no reports of any injuries.
Two men, aged 22 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of arson and were later bailed pending further inquiries.
