Epsom and St Helier Hospital is named this morning as one of the worst in the NHS for old and outdated buildings.

Research compiled by the Liberal Democrats suggests almost two thirds of its buildings predate the foundation of the NHS in 1948.

The party claims crumbling building are putting patients at risk.

Nationwide they say around 15%  of hospital buildings are over 75 years old.
