World Rugby are appealing against a decision to overturn a red card given to the fly-half.
His dismissal against Wales at Twickenham for a high tackle last weekend was thrown out by an independent disciplinary panel.
But, having examined the written judgement of the hearing, the governing body believes there is grounds to contest the decision.
