Eddie Jones insists he did not have talks with Japan about returning as their rugby union head coach until this month.

It was reported during the World Cup that he was in discussions while still in charge of Australia.

He was sacked from his role at Twickenham last December before taking charge of his native Australia for this year’s World Cup.
