East Molesey Methodist Church says installing a number of solar panels on its roof will greatly reduce its carbon footprint.

The site is used by a variety of community groups and it’s hoped the panels will save on running costs for their activities.

The majority of the funding for the project has come from fundraising drives and private donations.

The church says the panels will pay for themselves within a decade.
