The Oscar-winning actress from Hammersmith was presented with the gong at a special ceremony in Beverly Hills.
He was handed it by her 1923 co-star Harrison Ford, who’s called her an ‘undeniable screen presence’.
Past recipients of the DeMille prize include Meryl Streep, Barbra Streisand and Viola Davis.
