Croydon’s Mayor is urging the government to renew funding for the borough’ Holiday, Activity and Food programme.

56 projects were run under the initiative this summer, with claims it kept many youngsters off the streets and cut levels of crime.

So far Whitehall has not extended funding beyond March 2025 and some community leaders are claiming this is having a negative effect.

The programme provides holiday activities along with hot meals for children aged 4-16 who qualift for free meals at school.
