Croydon Council’s collaborating with Lawn Tennis Association to refurbish 32 tennis courts across the borough.

Over £500,000 is being invested to upgrade all the borough’s courts, £54,300 of which from the council, after bidding for capital funding.

The courts will have a new gate-access system to keep them secure and to deter antisocial behaviour.

The project is part of a nationwide investment by the government and LTA Tennis Foundation to open up the sport to many more people.
