Croydon Council wants to turn College Green into an open space with play areas, picnic spots and better links to East Croydon Station.

The plans, backed by the Growth Zone, have strong support, with 88% of people in favour after a public consultation.

The design includes more trees, wildflowers and improved play and sports areas to make the space safer and more welcoming.

The project is part of wider regeneration plans proposed to improve Croydon town centre for residents and visitors.
