Croydon Council is stepping up action against tenancy fraud to return homes to people on its housing waiting list.

Last year, 141 investigations recovered 36 council homes, saving an estimated £2.8 million.

Fraud cases include subletting, false applications, and tenants living elsewhere while keeping a council property.

Resident reports are key, and some cases are now being passed to the courts for further action.
