Croydon Council has updated its policy to address the increase in environmental crimes in the area, to make Croydon cleaner and safer

The policy includes increasing education for crimes such as fly-tipping and abandoned vehicles.

Croydon, in line with the national trend, has seen a big increase in fly-tipping which cost the Council more than £1 million last year.

A new community compliance team will be established to ensure the Council recoups the costs of cleaning and the disposal of waste.
