Generation Rent sent a Freedom of Information request to all 32 London councils providing statutory homeless services.

It revealed Hammersmith and Fulham Council made a one-off payment of £13,500 last year.

That puts Hammersmith and Fulham in the top five when it comes to highest single incentives paid.

Councils collectively paid private landlords’ incentives on nearly 11,000 occasions last year, spending over £31 million.

The overall money spent by councils in London has increased by over £8.5 million since 2018 when data was collected last.
