Councillors in Spelthorne have agreed to remove all greenbelt sites from the Local Plan.

This is with the exception of the two allocations that meet the need for Gypsy, Traveller and Travelling Showpeople.

The council’s Local Plan will determine how and where houses are built across the borough up until 2037.

Spelthorne paused the preparation of its draft local plan last June.

It had been proposing the release of almost 25 hectares of green belt land to deliver over 9,000 homes.

But it has since been ordered by the Government to progress the plan.
