Money for the bright blue vehicles has come from the council’s £9million Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
The vans can be “rapidly deployed” to reports of crime.
The Council also says that CCTV monitoring is being increased by an extra 150 hours each month in the Joint Control Centre.
