NHS England allocated a £16.5 million capital grant for the project, which is set to improve diagnostic and treatment times.
The centre will be a sustainable all-electric building, with the expansion translating to around 67,000 additional imaging scans.
The MP for Brentford and Isleworth, Ruth Cadbury, was among those in attendance.
