The Grade II listed building charts the Borough’s history through document and picture archives, fine art and costume.
Highlights of its collection include extensive Derby memorabilia and significant Roman archaeology from nearby sites.
It’s hoped around £300,000 will be invested into the free-to-visit museum if councillors approve the sum at a meeting in March.
