Audiences at Richmond Theatre have raised over £6,000 for displaced Syrian families.

The money, which is going to the Smile & Olive Foundation, was donated during performances of The Beekeeper of Aleppo in May.

Based on the book of the same name, the show tells the story of beekeeper Nuri, his wife, and their journey escaping Syria for the UK.

The Smile & Olive Foundation supports community centres for Syrian civilians fleeing war.
