Around 12,500 people in Chelsea on low incomes have been handed a financial payment to help them with the cost of living.

Nearly £628,000 has been provided by the council in single, £50 payments, since June.

The money has been paid to eligible residents who receive Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and/or Universal Credit.

Over 400 people responded to a feedback survey which showed that most recipients spent the £50 on groceries and utility bills.
