Crews were called to Maysoule Road shortly after 7pm, where a five-storey residential block had sustained significant damage.
Approximately 150 residents were evacuated from the building by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.
There are no reports of any injuries.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known and remains under investigation.
