The route outside Danetree Primary will be restricted to certain traffic at busy drop-off and pick-up times.
The move follows similar schemes at other schools in the borough with the council saying traffic levels have already been reduced.
The aim of school streets is to improve road safety, cut pollution and encourage more walking and cycling to school.
