An urgent call for rare blood donors is going out across Hammersmith and Fulham.

There are only 1,100 registered B negative donors in the whole of London.

There is also a need for people with the O negative and Ro subtype and those of Black heritage.

Ro plays a crucial role in the treatment of sickle cell disorder and donors are being told they will get priority access to appointments.

They are being asked to attend the blood donation centre on the first floor of Westfield in Shepherds Bush.
