An investigation has found more than 10 public swimming pools in the South East of the country have closed over the last decade.

The GMB Union sent a Freedom of Information request to all authorities across the UK.

More than 60 responded revealing 11 council owned public pools have been sold or closed since 2014.

The picture in Surrey was better with Epsom and Ewell, Spelthorne and Reigate and Banstead recording no closures.
