An escalation of conflict in the Middle East has left airspace closed, forcing major airlines to cancel flights from London Heathrow Airport.

All flights between the UK and Israel, Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha and the UAE are suspended because of the conflict in the Middle East.

Passengers are being urged to check with their airline before heading to the airport.

Some long haul flights are able to divert, but journeys that would normally require a stop at one of the hubs in the region will be affected.
