Officers and paramedics were called to the A3 Northbound at quarter to four this morning to reports of a collision.
A Mercedes car was found to have collided with a pedestrian, who was trapped under the car.
Despite paramedic’s efforts, the man died at the scene.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
