Emma Kirwin from Littlehampton in West Sussex will spend the next 6 months running between 24 south east coast lifeboat stations.
Her first stretch is taking her along the River Thames to Chiswick lifeboat station and then Tower Bridge tonight.
Emma was inspired to undertake the challenge having lived in Littlehampton for 16 years and is a supporter of her lifeboat station.
