Firefighters were called to a blaze on the ground floor of a semi-detached house on Selhurst Road at 3:30 on Monday afternoon.
One woman was treated on scene by paramedics and taken to hospital, where she later died.
A small part of the front room was damaged by fire, there are no reports of any other injuries.
