The vehicle, a Black Mercedes CLC was travelling the wrong way between Junction 11 and Junction 13 at around 2:20am on Saturday.
A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit.
She has been released on bail whilst enquiries are ongoing.
Police are asking anyone with dashcam footage in the area at the time to contact them on 101.
