The Alderman Penny Shelton was donated by RNLI supporter Hilary Saw in memory of her sister, a former Mayor of Kingston.
The lifeboat crew at Teddington, which is made up of volunteers, has attended 106 shouts over the last year and saved four lives.
Hilary says her sister would have been delighted with “The Penny.”
The lifeboat was then launched in front of some 175 guests.
