Emergency services were called to Victoria Road at 8am yesterday morning after a collision involving a vehicle and a young child.
The Road was closed for several hours, the child was treated at the scene before being taken to a major London trauma centre.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
No arrests have been made. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
