It will be shut on the anti-clockwise carriageway between junction nine for Leatherhead and junction 10 at Wisley.
The closure will begin at 9 tonight and the road is due to re-open at 9 in the morning.
The footbridge is part of a £317m project to upgrade junction 10 and develop new walkways and paths in the area.
