A “significant” clean-up operation is underway in a part of Claygate frequented by fly-tippers.

Elmbridge Borough Council’s contractors have begun clearing a 150-metre stretch of Woodstock Lane South.

Over 20 tonnes of waste have so far been removed, and the cleanup effort will continue over the next two weeks.

The project will enter its next phase on Tuesday with the installation of new 2-metre-high earth bunds and CCTV cameras.
