Director of Care, Anne Harris, retired from the Rainbow Trust in December after working there for almost two decades.
When a child is diagnosed with a serious illness, care teams there provide support to families at home and in hospital.
Anne is now a Life President for Rainbow Trust.
She says she felt “completely overwhelmed” when she received the letter from the Cabinet Office.
