A project which will see outdoor gyms and rain gardens installed has been chosen as the first recipient of the new Merton Legacy Fund.

Option C, entitled “breathing new life into public spaces” will be handed £3 million by the council.

The project includes a new BMX pump track and basketball court for Morden Park and Womble themed improvements at libraries.

More than 2,400 votes were cast by residents with Option C being declared the clear favourite.
