More than 100 homes are due to be built on farmland in Langley Vale near the racecourse.

Woodcote Epsom Residents Society and Save Langley Vale says brownfield sites in the borough should be considered first.

Epsom and Ewell is Surrey’s smallest borough and those against the plans say they fear also for biodiversity.

A spokesperson from developers Fairfax said the proposal had been “sensitively designed” and promoted sustainable living.

Epsom and Ewell Borough Council said back in December that it had reduced the number of homes proposed to be built on green belt sites.
