40 firefighters were called to a blaze on Duppas Hill Terrace at 1:30 this morning.
One man was declared dead at the scene and two other men are in hospital, one in a critical condition, after breathing in smoke.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Met Police.
