41 year old Victoria Evans will take part in the half marathon in Newcastle on Sunday in aid of the charity Independent Age.
She started running during lockdown and has already completed several events, but this will be her first time fundraising for a cause.
She said she was inspired to support Independent Age after seeing the challenges faced by older people on low incomes.
