A number of mini libraries are cropping up in Croydon’s parks. They are part of ParkBox which is a children’s literacy charity aiming to get youngsters engaged in books. The boxes will be open 24/7 and be looked after by a team of 11 parent volunteers including the carpenter who hand-makes them.
