A new poll commissioned by the Lib Dems has revealed 44% of Brits would never swim in the sea during the summer.
The Labour Government announced last month that water regulator Ofwat is to be abolished and replaced.
MP for Epsom, Helen Maguire, has been in the River Mole in Leatherhead this week testing the water for pollution.
She says it’s clear the Government needs to go further, sooner, and not just with regards to our beaches.
The poll was carried out on behalf of the Lib Dems by market research company Savanta.
