Cardo Group has taken on the role just 6 months after Breyer Group won the contract following an extensive procurement process.

The council says the news was extremely disappointing.

Cardo has been told it needs to honour a number of commitments including making it easier to book a handyman service for repairs.

Cllr Emily Davey, Portfolio Holder for Housing said:

“Kingston residents provided a huge amount of time and input into designing how the repairs service should run. It is critical that the Cardo Group is fully committed to delivering against the priorities residents set.

“The company has made a range of commitments on how they will deliver a comprehensive and responsive repairs service. These include a dedicated contact centre to make it easier to book a repair, a free handyman service to help residents with mobility issues carry out repairs in their homes and regular meetings with resident groups to gather feedback that will inform how the service is run.”
