The free event will bring live music, dance, food, theatre, and art to George Street and Whittaker Avenue on Saturday, the 13th September.

The event will draw on Richmond’s unexpected legacy as a hub of youth culture, from the 1960s Crawdaddy Club to jazz’s revival in the 1980s, while looking ahead to the next generation of performers, creatives and communities shaping the borough’s identity.

It will also showcase some of the town’s lesser-known landmarks, from the riverside boatyards and historic theatres to independent businesses and cultural venues.

Visitors can also expect buskers, pop-up dining, and even a classic Routemaster bus experience hosted by Peter Hendy.

Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of Richmond Council, says:

“Residents want to see real change in our town centre, not just more plans.

“This festival is a clear step forward; it’s a change people can see and experience on the high street. It’s also a reminder that Richmond isn’t just a historic town – it’s a creative one too,” he said.
