A motorist who knocked down and killed a jogger in Battersea did not attend his trial at the Old Bailey.

Rashid Ali drove his range rover across a junction near Battersea Bridge before striking Jack Ryan, 29, in January 2021.

Yesterday he was convicted in his absence of causing death by dangerous driving.

Although he was granted extra time to travel from Pakistan to give evidence, Ali did not board a flight to the UK.
