Police were called to Thessaly Road just after 6 o’clock last night.

A man in his 20s had suffered knife injuries and was taken pronounced dead in hospital.

Two men, aged 28 and 38, have been arrested in connection with the incident. They remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is leading the investigation, said:

“This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts remain firmly with the victim’s family during this extremely difficult time.

“A homicide investigation has now been launched and we are working urgently to establish the full circumstances surrounding this attack.

“We are urgently appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, has information about those involved, or who may have relevant CCTV, doorbell or dash‑cam footage from the area, to contact police.”
