Robert Keegan pleaded guilty to one count of criminal damage, one of theft from a shop, and breach of his Community Penalty Notice.
The 39-year-old from Purley was spotted on the 17th of August taking items by staff who alerted police.
A nearby officer located him and recovered a bag which was found to contain a large quantity of stolen items.
