The 24-year-old is detained on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
Officers were called to Crabtree Road at 2.30am on the 19th of October after reports of a collision between a driver and pedestrian.
The woman in her 20s was seriously injured but has since been discharged from hospital.
The driver, who initially failed to stop, has been released under investigation.
