The panic button was pushed after the suspect pulled out the weapon and threatened the lone staff member demanding they open the till.
The staff member shouted for him to leave, and he ran out of the shop.
Officers tracked him down via CCTV, found the knife and arrested him for commercial robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
