Muhammad Ali blamed inexperience as a renovator and contractors who he claimed had agreed to properly dispose of the waste.
The offence took place in August 2023 when a councillor travelling through the area discovered the fly-tip.
It consisted of waste from a renovation on the green between Pollards Hill West and Pollards Hill South.
Evidence in the fly-tip led officers to 46 year old Mr Ali whose business was located in London Road.
