44 year old Kevin Moran was sentence to 3 months in prison and ordered the pay the victim £150 compensation.
In April last year, the victim thought Moran needed help after finding him hunched over on a bench near Sunbury Cross.
The suspect reacted by shouting racist abuse at the victim and kicking him from behind as he walked away.
He was arrested and found guilty of racially aggravated common assault.
