39 year old Milo Creese is charged with arson and assault against emergency workers.
The charges relate to suspected arson incidents in Ottershaw between the 31st of October and the 21st of November.
One incident, a mast fire, which is being investigated by Counter Terrorism Policing South East, occurred in Bittams Lane.
The fire was extinguished and there were no reported injuries.
He has been remanded in custody until his next hearing at the Old Bailey on the 16th of January.
Police have asked anyone with information on the incidents to contact them.
