The brigade was called to Elm Road just after 5 o’clock where they had to use a 32-metre ladder to tackle the blaze from above.
Half of the roof of a mid-terraced house was damaged and two people left the building before the Brigade arrived.
There were no reports of any injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
