A group of volunteers in Spelthorne has received a special honour.

Spelthorne Litter Pickers have been handed The King’s Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of their work.

It has an equivalent status for voluntary groups as the MBE has for individuals.

The announcement was made to coincide with the King’s 76th birthday yesterday.
